Introduction to Stock Trading at Boston University

Summary

Stock Trading at Boston University (STaBU) are a group of students committed to teaching stock trading techniques to the Boston University community. Covered topics include but are not limited to Stocks, Options, Forex, Crypto and more!

Who We Are and What We Do

We believe that all students at Boston University deserve the right to learn the importance and skills of stock trading. Stock Trading can be complex and daunting, but with the right help it can become one of the best ways to make money with your idle cash. We plan on teaching students various topics within the trading realm including but not limited to Stocks, Options, Forex, and Crypto currencies. The goal of these teachings is to give students the resources they need to become successful and hopefully profitable traders whilst studying here at Boston University. We also plan on hosting various projects where members can analyze significant stock market events from a technical standpoint.

STaBU is a club dedicated to teaching students at Boston University how to trade the various avenues of the stock market. In meetings, this organization will deal with topics such as:

  • Intro to stocks

  • Stock Intricacies and studies

  • Introduction to Options Trading

  • Options Intricacies

  • Forex

  • Crypto

  • Futures

  • Trading Strategies

Trading is an amazing way for students to put their money to work whilst studying and requires zero experience to get started in. Students deserve to have access to the knowledge of trading without having to sift through boring and mundane Wall Street publications. We want to provide students with the tools, knowledge, and network to be able to build a strong and successful trading platform, while also growing their financial parachutes. During our meetings we will hold lecture style discussions on various topics regarding the stock market. From simple ideas like “how to open an account and place trades” to complex ideas like “Options: Implied Volatility and Theta Decay”, we want to teach students the intricacies of the stock market so they can make well informed decisions and trades, and feel confident in their trading capabilities.

The club’s community will also serve as a network for students to learn and teach each other new ideas and strategies. Half of the battle for trading in the stock market is learning how to address different events. From Bull runs, Bear runs, Kangaroo markets, short squeezes, and more, students can learn how to manage their portfolios better by learning strategies from each other. Some students may know how to best deal with sideways markets while others may know how to take advantage of short term dips caused by FDA related events or earnings reports. Bringing students together under one network will give everyone access to the different types of ideas and strategies out there, resulting in a successful group of traders. Furthermore, we would also like to have a network for students to make significant “stock call outs”. Students will utilize the skills we teach to analyze stocks on an hourly and daily basis and refer them to our community. We hope that as students grow as traders they will grow in confidence and be able to analyze micro trends in stocks, resulting in more profitable and high conviction trades.
